Are you setting the Aires II to dynamic when using the older microphones? If not that's why none of they are sounding very good. I currently have the Aires II paired with a UR6QW and a boom mic and it sounds pretty amazing.
Been testing for the last two weeks in the mobile. RX and NRC is really nice on the radio. TX Audio is very crisp and clear once adjusted and made a ton of DX contacts with everyone saying it sounds great on air.
Biggest complaint - volume level is not usable in the mobile until it's turned...
My biggest wish for this radio that wasn’t satisfied was ability to flip the large display to show freq. on my mckinley eu the freq display is tiny when freebanding or talking 10 meters. I’m also hoping there will be an underground software USB update that leaks from the Chinese factory that...
Been testing for a couple of weeks to get a feel for the radio before I post a video.
Some notes so far.
- Power is about what you’d expect, no surprises. Same as other newer FCC radios doesn’t swing much from a low carrier.
- Modulation was set pretty tame out of the box. Can be adjusted by...
From what I can tell that is just the monitor function and not the TX audio. I did the on-air audio TX test in my video and that reverb sound isn't there on the receiving radio. I do notice it with the monitor function on though, but doesn't bother me.
What were the oldest Superstar branded radios? Superstar 2000? 360? What was the first product that carried the Superstar name? Anyone know the history of that brand name?
SSB handhelds. You get all excited about it, buy it, you play around with it and realize it's not as much fun as it sounded, then it sits on your shelf for years. One day you're taking a trip to europe and you go, oh that would be fun for the handheld, you take it with you but since you're on...
Noise floor is good, seems quieter than my President McKinley EU. Clarifier is by ear.
I will say it is very easy to use, it’s like using a classic radio that has the newer features. They did a good job of making the features accessible without making the radio complicated. I think that will...
That's not the latest version :)
Newest version has moved things around a little. Has NRC for RX and also TX (will reduce background noise). Has NPC on/off as well for audio boost - not sure if it's an actual NPC yet but basically it's kinda of a max mod type adjustment. Not much distortion...
This is nothing, wait till next year and the year after when you’ll get more DX with people doing the same dumb stuff in different languages. :) peak is coming, move to freeband
I looked at that but on most Deltaforce radios it has a cw position instead of pa. (I’ve never seen one say PA there). On omegaforce it was on the RF power knob you turned it left till it clicked. Delta force not sure - he says he turns that knob and regardless of position it’s stuck in PA mode...
Was trying to help someone online and don’t have the radio in front of me and for the life of me can’t remember how this radio did pa mode.
Was it rotating a knob till it clicked it was it a combo func button press?
Anyone?
Wondering what people might suggest for a switch panel with 50A total capacity and maybe 3-4 toggle switches? Or 40amp individual capacity for each switch.
Looking for something that isn’t crazy big and each can be wired individually. Seems like everything is 30a or below.
Might have to custom...
We are covered in 12" snow plus got a good 0.5" of ice last night with 40mph winds. Haven't gone outside to see if the antenna is still there :) Listening to DX on Kiwi SDR today.
