2510's sold!
I'm gonna clean the TS520s up and repost it... gonna target $200 price point. I found a way to normalize the finals. Working on a Philco audio amp now, then the kenwood.
Turns out a bad laptop power supply was causing enough noise that I couldn't hear anything on any of my...
Ok, now I'm totally open to separating everything
I would sell the 2510's outright, and the GR-78. Would still like to trade the TS-520s for something similar. Call me crazy, but I think I would like to have SWAN rig. I like tubes over transistors. But on the other hand, I could be...
I've got some gear I want to trade...
Ideally I would trade it ALL for a working all mode HF rig WITH general coverage rx.
Pretty much all of my stuff is in need of a little TLC. I would rather get rid of it all, and just have one(functioning) radio.
Kenwood TS-520S:
Missing side vox...
I have a TS-520S sitting around here that I would like to get rid of. Would LOVE to trade for something all mode with general coverage rx. I put new tubes in it and never dipped(?) them, so that needs done.
Thanks
I agree that perhaps most people do not know how to use a search engine. Luckily I started using computers in the 3rd grade. I was the first generation to start using computers at such a young age in school. That makes me a gen x'er. Back them it was an apple IIe.. We did basic programming to...
I guess any ole 5k will work as long as it fits in the spot the other was in. Oh and the knob would need to fit right.
I feel a little dumb for destroying the one I had.
I need a mic for my Kenwood TS520s..
I have been looking at the Astatic mics because they are cheap and I read good things about them online. Any input? I just need a simple handneld mic that will work with the TS520s
Thanks
PS
do these mic's have a nice heft to them?
Ok Rogerbird... I sent you an email from my hotmail account. All sorts of problems with this thing. It may become a for sale parts radio VERY soon.
Thanks
The only stuff I need according to the manual is a VOM, tuning wand, dummy load and RF signal generator(S-meter sensitivity adjust).
I do not have a dummy load so I didn't do the drive coil alignment etc. And I do not have a signal generator so I did not do the s-meter sens adjust. I did...
I am having display issues. The display shows all 8's, LCD's all light up.
I figured out that if I lower the voltage of my pwr supply to about 8.5vdc the display works fine. IC312(?), the 7805 voltage reg, has an output of 10v with normal pwr supply input. And it is about 5v with the pwr...
So I downloaded a manual for my new TS520s and I am try to do an alignment. I am following the manual but when I tweak the appropriate coils the S meter does not move. From what I understand I should be tuning the coils for max S meter deflection. I am pretty sure I am doing it right because...
I got a couple of HR2150 problems... they are posted in the CB tech and repair section. BUT since I am only going to use it as it was intended, 10meters, I thought I would direct any help from the HF ham side over to my post(s)...
I cant find a schematic or anything online. I now have destroyed 2 resistors while removing that damn epoxy crap.
They are on the back of the cpu board. And of course they are not labeled.
If you flip the board over with the cpu IC on the left you will see 3 resistors mounted in a row...
New 2510....10volts out of IC312 should be 5v
I just got a 2150... it's broken and I already knew that when I got it. It has display problems but does still TX. I am looking in to the display..
My problem in IC312 has/had a diode from the center pin to ground... it sorta fell off(really...
Thanks for all the info guys.
I have to wait for this HR2150 to come in the mail. $50 was an ok price right? Display has issues... seems easy to fix from what I have read. And it also seems I found a kenwood 520s i was looking for. It needs some work too.
I have to take a trip to VA...
WOW I think I really like you guys... I was expecting to get ripped a new one by bring up my interpretation of part 97. I guess you can say I have not had too many good experiences on forums.
Ok then... The problem with the Ameritron amp is that I want to mess around with something...
