Uniden PC78XLT Opinions

Hi all, I'm looking for opinions on the new PC78XLT with SMD. I'm not looking to do any mods, just make sure alignment is up to snuff. I'm wondering if you can still peak the transmit stages and set the modulation on these new boards? Thx
