...It gives me 1/2 mile for the same money as 500 ft of 14 ga stranded copper...but will my antenna perform as well as one with stranded copper, all other things being equal?

yes, it is about 1/4 the price, that's why I posted the link.

stranded wire is my choice,.... its easier to work with, and it has more surface area than a single wire of the same gauge....... RF only travels on the wires surface (skin effect)

Hmmm...barbed wire is stranded...and it might keep any kids wandering in my woods from messing with the antenna...:laugh:
