1 more ? On 5/8 wave antennas

After reading all the threads on them, i undersatand a lot more. Do i need. A matching device if i go with the ground plane style with radials? If radial are 1/4
Wave, will it still need a matching device? Do they need to be same as the driven element in length to match in theory? What theoreticaly is needed

A 5/8 wave antenna needs a matching device, radials or no radials. That device is typically a tapped coil at the base.
