11 meter is very quiet?

I have to laugh the solar site said 10-12 meter was suppose to be poor today but it is almost 9:00 PM & I can hear my Lincoln II+ upstairs barking out some good sounding DX which is unusual for this time of night. I guess I'll just keep Rolling with the Flow !

Its a good worldwide guide but its not perfect as I have learned over time. Trans-Equatorial Propagation can be really good even when the solar info says otherwise. Many times 15 meter does this as well, even better then 10 meter.

was camping on 555 and heard Maine @ 5pm(est). went to 36lsb and made a whole bunch of contacts to the northeast in a half hour before they disappeared. got 1st contact to Suriname and Hawaii earlier today. all conditions, well under triple digits. take time, patience, and the right conditions running small power. haven't had a day like that for a year

yesterday mornin i took a trip about 45 miles away to get electrical parts. i got the cant see it bearkitten 980 fired up. on 38 lsb i got to 3 but as they replied the big strappers jumped in n cut em off

I'm surprised you gave that 980 a chance. I figured you for a different radio. Mine still works OK but I was never thrilled with visibility in the mobile enviroment.

It was a small miracle on Sunday when it snowed. I live one block off the main highway, and somebody's junk was giving me a noise floor of s5 to s7. Well the snow must have broke their junk, because I have had s0 ever since! I can finally hear the stations with low signals, and it almost seems strange. Knock on wood their junk will stay broke. :ROFLMAO:

Glad to see someone else bought a KL 200 because the KL 203 seems to get all the mention. My 980 and KL 200 P was the first combo that got me talking some skip because they claimed the KL could handle the 980 because it put out less than 4 watts. That was many radios ago. ! LOL
