Has anyone put a switch to have low /high power on their 142gtl, or an outboard variable control to vary the power?<easier than opening the cabinet up all the time..

So what did you exactly do with the swr calibrator to adjust the power...wire it to ...the power adjustments or what..give me some more details

All you have to do is diconnect the leads going to the swr pot and tape or better yet shrinktube the ends so they dont short out when you tie them off to the sides and run 2 wires from where the VR is on the board one from one side of the swr pot and one to the other keep them in the same order which would be reversed when looking at the board compared to the swr pot on the front of the radio so left to left right to right from VR point to swr pot points

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
