Well I finally went out and picked up a new vehicle today,a 2005 Ford Escape XLT.I think it has even less space to mount a radio in it then my car had.I have the FT-857 with the remote mounting kit but it still leaves me scratching my head for a place to mount the control head.I am thinking of making a panel with brackets that fit between the dash panels just above the centre console.Antennas are another thing.I will not go magmount and need to mount at the very least a 2m/70cm antenna and an HF antenna somewhere.I was looking at the roof racks for the VHF/UHF antenna but not having much luck with an HF antenna mount.I don't want to drill the bumper.Any ideas as to a sturdy mount other than a lip mount for the rear door? I know I am being fussy but it just looks SOOOOOO good right I can't bear to mess it up.Besides if I mess it up the wife will mess me up LOL.
