2950 non Dx with led replacement in display lights dim on key d

I replaced the bulbs with leds 2x 3v led seriesed on each side key up they drop out even went as far as new power run to main regulator didnt help same result. Help?

You may have to put resistor to drop the voltage to the LEDs

I would think the voltage is in fact dropping on key up with the symptoms.

Makes it sound more like the problem is an overloaded power supply.

Does the radio show proper transmit power?

Out put seems fine it does this in the bench or in the truck either one no different.

unsolder the wire that feeds positive DC to the LEDs and put a DC meter on it.
what voltage does it show in RX?
what voltage does it show in TX?

I got this part taken care of but I still have the Warm up issue I guess you'd call It changed c107 someone mentioned seemed like it helped at first. Then I noticed it sounding like it was scanning or something I'm gonna try to post video It done it in house and truck.
