Hey all... A friend just bought a 2950 (older model) that works great except when you key up and talk, it sometimes stays in transmit mode after you unkey the mic. If you key up a couple times real fast it will unkey itself. Tried a different mic that we know is good and it still does it... is this common? any idea how to fix it?

Thanks

See if there is a battery for the memory and change it. If it has one, it will most likely be 3 volts. I changed the battery in my Saturn Turbo/2990 to take 2 AA batteries, batteries still have full charge after 1 1/2 years.. Others have recommended changing it to take lithium battery instead. My radio did some unexpected things when the battery went dead. Keying up when changing channel, or when unkeying, freqs not showing up correctly etc....

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
