When i key 269650 and above on ssb my meter swings to the top but below that the meter swings half way.I get full bars above and only half below 279650.Why is that?Is it a high swr issue because when i connect a external swr meter it says on 269650 my swr is 1.1 and on 274050 my swr is 1.3.

Robb is exactly right, The problem or what your seeing is the tuning or efficiency of your antenna where it was or is tuned is where your going to see best performance.

This is why all CB antenna tuning instructions have you tune and check SWR on channel ( 1 ) 26.965.0 and channel ( 40 ) 27.405.0. By setting or tuning antenna on channel 20 will help even out the Standing Wave Racial on the straight 40 CB channels but if you want broadbanding you have to figure out where you are going to talk up and down the band and tune according to thos 2 points.

I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
