I've likely owned 10-15 Ranger 29xx's since they came out. I never aligned, peaked or tuned any of them. Adjusted the dead key a few times. Some of them, I aligned SSB with another rig nearby.

You have probably got more knowledge than me so you converted them yourself to work on 11 meter band

All the new ones I've bought, had e-chip installed. The used ones already had it, too. The e-chip just plugs in the board.

I have always had good luck with them. Or you can try customcbs or wallcott cb.

I’ve bought 2 radios in the past 5 years both didn’t have any issues but many people on forums claim
The tune and Alignment isn’t good maybe I will look into bobs CB in Pennsylvania .

Possibilities of picking one up in good 2nd hand condition also

Some techs are good, but I doubt many, lovingly tune and align your radio. Easy $ to be had.

There are really two options for a new radio purchase. 1) Buy the radio from a place that does quality tech work and you will be happy and never have to mess with the radio. 2) Buy from Copper or H & Y and then convert the radio yourself or use a good local tech that is available that you trust.

This is the million dollar question finding an honest trustworthy tech .

Mikes Radio Repair is about the only one i would trust. Most other "shops" are nothing but "super-mod" hackers.
