I see them on fleabay, and the green ones I'm sure are legit. Then there are the aged ones, with tarnished leads and powdery black like old chocolate, looks legit. Finally, there are new, shiny, some square, some rounded edge, those scream fake. CB world shows to have them, likely legit given the price, but I can't spend that much each. I would buy bulk if I could get them for between $2 and $4 each, shipped. Am I dreaming?
 

High power PNP, must be a passthrough reg. Any reason not to use a modern equivalent?

Edit: Digikey has 2SA2222SG's for $1.40 each.

just use a TIP42.

beware the ebay and amazon sellers as there are lots of fakes out there.
best to get them from a reputable dealer.

Thanks! I forgot, I really need to print these TIP equivalents out, I have plenty of them. I think I have asked before, maybe it will stick this time.
