Will heat adversly affect the operation a faulty 2SB754? I have a radio that when it heats up 100F-110F or so, which is well below the high operating temp range, the radio loses swing on AM and SSB. Yesterday, after letting the radio warm up, I took a bottle of compressed air and cooled the transisitor and it seemed to increase the swing on the radio's meter. I didnt' have it hooked to an ext. power meter.

Heat will affect it. You can replace it with a 2SB817, its a higher amp version of the 754!

That' right; most are counterfeits and/or not real at all.
