The Kw-7 is indeed stiff, has alot of wind load @ 70mph. I had mine on a homebrew heavy duty mirror mount with a heavy duty 3/8-24 stud mount. Can't see many mag mounts being able support that going down the road at highway speeds plus wind. Good antenna with the correct mounting.Been comparing the Hustler HQ-27 and Firestick KW-7. The Hustler required no tuning. I like it's light weight. It rides the magnet mount nicely. I wish it had the bandwidth like the Firestik.
The Firestick KW-7 is a very stout antenna. I was surprised how heavy it is. It has wide bandwidth and also required no tuning. I can spin the dial up to 28.405 with a SWR under 1.5:1. I certainly like the antenna, it's just heavy and stiff and will require a strong mount. I ordered the quad magnet mount, but it seems to be lost in transit. Had to open an eBay case yesterday. For now, I'm satisfied with the Hustler.

I had no problem going between 27.185 and 27.555 and up.I'm very impressed with the bandwidth.
I'm flat on 11 meters and under 1.7:1 up to 28400. I didn't check any further because it was burning hot yesterday. I can't run the Firestick until I have a better mounting system. I'll likely go with a Breedlove ball or puck of some kind. For now, the Hustler is doing just fine.I had no problem going between 27.185 and 27.555 and up.
