My guess is that the bullet was shoved backwards in the case as the bolt was going in battery. It's amazing how it stretched that sucker. Extruded. Basically, a hand grenade. This happened locally. I took the picture at the local gun shop. The guy was given a box of 223, but had a few of these mixed in.
It blew the magazine out and sprinkled rounds on the ground. Gotta love Ruger's hammer forged barrels. If this was a milspec AR, it would've blew the barrel.
Yeh, I've seen guy trying to close bolts gun on wrong rounds, pushing the bullet back and crushing the case...but a mini 14 !
You'd have to be hitting the bolt carrier with a lump of wood to get it into battery.
There'd be a "slight pressure peak"
Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
