50ft Pushup Mast On Roof Of House

How hard would it be to install a 50ft pushup mast on top of a 17ft high roof. I am thinking about doing this on my roof just wonder if it would be worth it or now

Personally, I wouldn't put a 50 ft push-up pole on a 17 ft high roof. I'd slide it over a smaller pole placed in the ground that has concrete poured around it. Then I would use four guy wires ninety degrees apart at/about 35 ft from the pole to the ground. The ends of the guy wires should be mounted to an immovable object. Use a level to ensure that the pole is perpendicular to the ground.

A ground rod should be put in the ground as close to your station as possible. Use a large gage ground wire from that rod to your power supply and radio - use a wire clamp to attach it. Run another ground wire from the base of the push-up pole to the ground rod.
Done...

You will still need to put an antenna on top of it; what do you have in mind? What model? If you are going to use a beam antenna - I would use another set of guy wires between the higher set and the ground surface. A light antenna can handle modest support in high winds; a heavier antenna is going to demand more support...

If you mount it on the roof, how will you raise it up? They are usually about 10' - 13' high and if you get it raised up, how will you guy it?

I have a 50' foot push-up on my roof, but I only have it up 30'. I have it guyed at each 10' segment with four sets of guys to lag bolts that go into the roof beams at the roof eave. I'm not sure I would want to go up 50', but 30' has served me well for years. I currently have a Cushcraft R6000 on top with a fan-type dipole below it.
