6 inch spring for 102" whip

not sure there was ever a 6 inch spring mudfoot.
maybe but i can't remember ever coming across one.

the ball mount is 2 inches and the spring is 4, making it 6 total inches.

I figured there was. Countless topics saying: "ya needs a 6 inch spring". Guess I can get a stout 4" spring, then. I have an old Breedlove 10" riser that gives 5" of adjustments. I just don't want to cut off the threaded end of my last steel whip. Cost to much buying em anymore. My 6 inch riser is threaded at the top. I'm just fidgeting around at the moment.

If you're using a steel whip why do you need a spring? I don't use one.

I had one years ago. Definitely a rare bird, especially since MFJ is done. Doubt it'll ever be made again. I wish I could find another one. Be a cleaner install for sure. I've had my Hustler 102 for a long time. Last install was rear bumper on my old 84 Sierra pickup. It looked cool and worked great, especially with a few hundred watts behind it.

Breedlove mounts compliment the 102 nicely. No other ball out there worth a crap, except maybe an old school Motorola.

Hustler antennas still sells the SSM-3 pot belly stainless steel spring. It is kind of heavy but it is only 4 inches though. These are a good as you are going to get for a 102 whip for sturdiness and long life without rust.
Some of those truck stop cheapy springs will likely flop the 102 whip around in the wind and corrode since the cheap ones aren't stainless steel.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
