I had mentioned that my old PS went south. It kept blowing fuses. My 757 was hooked up to it. I have noticed that since the PS went bad that the thermal fan on the 757 had started running non stop. Then the other day it would not transmit at first. Then after a bit it started to work fine. Now tonight I turned it on and it is not transmitting again. Could this have been a result of the old PS blowing fuses ? Could some extra voltage got into the radio to mess something up ?

That one sounds like one of those deals that is going to be real difficult to "diagnose over the internet" to me. The thermal fan running non-stop and not transmitting sounds almost sounds like there is a diode or diode/voltage regulator circuit acting as a thermal sensor that has gone hay-wire. Perhaps the reason the power supply kept blowing fuses is because the radio was drawing too much current, which would explain the heat issue?

Well I guess it pays to check the simple things first. I got home from work and decided to check if I may have accidentally pushed a button in the back. Sure enough the Linear button was pushed in which sent it into protection mode. Re-pushed the button and it works fine now. The fan still is on though. It doesn't heat up and works fine otherwise. Just the fan is always on and keeps the rig very cool.
