I picked up several radios in the states over the holidays, and am in the process of freshening them up. Most of the newer radios use thick white insulators between the chassis and the driver, final and audio output transistors. Are these as good or better than mica insulators?? Are they plastic or ceramic? I figured the manufacturers use them because they are cheaper and easier to install on the assembly line than mica. I have heard them referred to as 90 day wonders. But... if they are as good as mica, then I won¨t bother to change them. Any input ????

I would imagine they are teflon or silicone, teflon's probably ok but I would'nt trust the silicone ones in a high heat situation.
