I pulled that carrier control circuit from Rick Jackson's 148 GTL diagram over at CB tricks, then modified it.

Looking at the mode switch, that feedback circuit is excluded is in the diagram I've shared.
(hopefully, for obvious reasons).

doing an NPC mod without a scope is useless.
you might as well just clip the AMC resistor because it will act about the same.

For those that insist on doing it and don't have a scope, i have found with the galaxy DX style radios that a 390 ohm resistor and a 1N4148 diode works best, and leave the limiter intact.
