Well if it were me, it would be waste of time, and loss of $$ for a seemingly non-existent reason.

Yes, I agree.

But it seemed both parties co-operated to come to a reasonable conclusion.

I have wasted my time at retail stores to return products that I wasn't satisfied with, but a refund worked for me.

Many internet transactions end worse than this one, I can tell you about one.

But is has no impact on this exchange that found both parties where they started from.

it did end about as best it could for the situation, there is a point there. not the ideal ending but it could have been worse
