alternator question

if changing out you stock alt to a bigger alt or just changing out the charge wire to 4 guage. do you keep the circuit breaker or fuse thingy thats on the small stock wire in line..



looking at my stock alt i see a breaker on the charge wire going to the battery.when i change my stock alt and put 4 guage wire on it do you keep that thing in line or not use it..dont want to fry anything
