Aluminum antenna ground radials

I live out in the country
All power lines are buried in my community.
Cb runs off of a 12 volt battery on the bench.
Ive flipped main breaker in shop and noise level doesnt change.
I will try to place the cmc at antenna instead of inside shop at radio to see if noise floor changes.
My radials on antenna are partially shrouded by the eve of the shop.
Will that have any effect on my antennas performance or noise floor?
I always get good audio reports locally to approx 25 miles

455monte,

Fluorescent light fixtures nearby in your shop?? Can be horrible noise generators.
As Sp5it posted, your Rf choke should be connected at your antenna feedpoint. A good choke may help your noise floor but I'd bet not or very little. Noise could be coming from many sources in your home or from nearby neighbors. Also, vertically polarized antennas tend to pick up more ambient noise. Good luck, can be a real bitch to cure sometimes.
