Ameritron 500M

Hello,
I am looking at a 2009 year Ameritron Al-500M amplifier for purchase, and wondering if they installed the Toshiba transistors in these years?

I think too, these people are selling for a silent key estate and there not popping covers to check.

In 2011 they still were using Toshiba's in them.

They had a lot of issues with these. I am not sure if anyone specializes in fixing them or redesigning them properly to work as listed.

Obviously my knowledge is limited to what I have heard on air and online.

I do not recall all the details but if you google it I am sure you can get to the bottom of the issues.

I almost bought one prob. 10 years ago but at the last minute decided not to. Just make sure you do your home work!

lol, toshiba's. its a lemon and only good for about 375w - 400w pep safely on 11m. meh!
