In fact, I have an AL-80A in here for repair, and normally won't work on tube type equipment for people that send it in, due to the fragile nature, and the weight, but I love the amp so much, that I decided to take on the job.

How about an update for me on the repair :?: :D
Tried to call a few times and got the machine.

Yep, a single 3-500ZG tube amp has to be the best overall as a single tube never leaves you wondering which tube might be getting soft, it's flat-out gorgeous, and it's forgiving as he...
...uh, Heaven! (except for parasitics :x )

The possibility of a $175 tube zapping itself into trash in an instant really chaps my A$$! That's why I've switched to 4-400s.

If you have a 3-500Z(G) amp make sure the filament voltage is right about 4.85v because for every .15v over that the tube life is halved!!

Heathkit SB-220, 4.85v = 20,000 hours :D

Kenwood TL-922A, 5.7v = 500hrs

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
