Amp Power Ugrades

ok i concede this is probably a really dumb question however are there any modifications one can do to an amplifier to make it put out more wattage (specifically a Texas Star Mod V 100w)? if so where can that information be obtained.

Is there a quick way of getting more output power from an amplifier? Sure, over-volt it. Are there undesirable consequences? Sure, some things used in that amplifier were never made to handle that extra voltage, they'll 'pop'. Is there a very simple, easy, forgiving method of increasing output power? Nope, all of them will require time, effort, and money. Sort of, jack it up and slide a different amplifier under it, you know? Just wanna see bigger number on that meter? 'Diddle' the meter. Easy, simple, and cheaply done. Not too forgiving, but you can't have everything.

It was stated in a post in your last thread that you would have to get a larger amp for more power.

Iceman, that amp is what it is, 80-100 watts of power. The single largest jump in signal is when you go from say a 25 peak watt Cobra 29 to adding a small 2 pill amp that does say 200 watts. This is an improvement of 8x,after that you will have to double your power to gain 1/2 of an S unit.

The only way to get more power out of that amp is to put a bigger amp behind it to drive.

Put a worn out meter movement return spring and he should see more watts.
