Amp question...

If I am running an amplifier on 10 meters on a sideband only radio do I need to lower my output wattage at all? I wanted to use my JAWS II 150 amp ( puts out 150 watts on high an 80 watts on low ) with an HTX-100 which puts out 25 watts on high and 5 watts on low. I don't think it would be an issue with 5 watts but is the normal 25 watt output to much?

Use the least amount of drive to reach near peak. No difference between 125W and 150W.

Also, many amps have "input limits" that if exceeded - can damage the amp. Make sure you are pumping more into the amp then the amp can handle.

If you can, take the lid off of that amp, take a pic and let us see what is inside. It will help answer some questions about what it is capable of.
