The only similarities in a guitar audio tube type amp and an RF amp is that they both have a case and both have tubes in them. Beyond that they are like oranges and acorns. I was going to say oranges and lemons but they are both citrus fruits which makes them have something more in common other than growing on trees.

I'm in leinster and I could trade you a 12v cb amp for it. How many watts is the bass amp?

Go ahead and convert it. Keep good records of before and after (notes, pictures and such).

Why not? People make aquariums out of old CRT TV sets, after all. And the Marshall's are the loudest. ;)

It's not so much a conversion as it is a complete tear down and a complete rebuild using lots of extra components like coils and capacitors for the required tank circuit and tuned input. I doubt even the tubes used can be reused as an RF amp unless they are old sweep tubes like 6L6's or such.

    Amplifier Conversion

Okay first off apologies for the caps lock posting 359. I didn't realize that it would be read as 'screaming'. I know better now and I wont do it again. Thanks for the replies and it seems that it would be alot of work in order to do a conversion. It would require knowledge that I dont have. The amplifier itself is just a small practice amp of about thirty-thirtyfive watts output. It dosen't have any tubes in it. Its not a Marshal. I was just thinking that if the human voice when spoken through a microphone gets converted into an electrical signal and an musical note when sounded (plucked) and put through an amplifier is also converted into an electrical signal that the amplifier could be used as is to amplify the signal going through the radio and through the antenna for a slightly bigger or louder output signal .As I said in my initial post 'the question just crossed my mind'.

Well actually in this case it is more along the lines of converting a steam engine to a diesel engine. Both do the same thing but in different ways and converting from one to anotner without basically completely destroying the first one is bordering on the impossible.
