I had another friend assume he could repair his Texas Star DX500V himself......
Simple repair, Power button light bulb burned out.....
He turned a simple fix into a somewhat major repair.
He did not disconnect the DC voltage supply before he started sticking metal things inside......
Yep, shorted a hot pin to ground and started burning traces........
He called me just about ready to cry, and fessed up.......
Yeah, I took it in and took care of it....... again.....this was his 4th attempt to do a DIY fix that failed......miserably......
