Antenna Improvement

You have all kinds of options for this radio. If you want a good portable antenna, the best ever made was the AEA HotRod! It was a 1/2 wave end fed antenna. It used a BNC connector.

There are also co-linear mobile and base antennas.

The question now is, what radio do you have and how do you want to operate it? This will determine if you need a PORTABLE antenna, a MOBILE antenna, or a BASE antenna and what type connector/adaptor you need for the top of it.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
