About that light. Try Radio Shack, ask for an 'NE-2' bulb. Tape one leg to the antenna, let'er rip.

When I was first married and was living in an apartment I had a pair of phased 1/4 wave verticles for 10m in my shack. Yes I said IN my shack, on in each corner on either side of my desk. The place had nine foot ceilings and the antennas just fit with 1/4 wave spacing. I taped a regular NE-2 neon bulb to one of the elements just for shits and grins. My father asked me what it was there for and I told him it was an RF monitor. He did not believe me until I told him to hold the antenna while I keyed up with a mere 100 watts. The bulb and my father both lit up. :laugh:

Was just looking through my light bulb hoarding box I have 10-20 of those neon bulbs haha sweet ! Im turning my antenna into a christmas tree !
