What is a good aftermarket antenna for a yaesu ft-60 handheld

A 1/4 wave for 2 meters should work as well as anything will. That's for 2 meters and 70 cm. What brand or model? Beats me, pick one.

i was thinking about getting a diamond rh77ca

Have a 77 on the Baofeng - like it a bunch.
Works well.

That's a nice antenna as well. I know Universal Radio has hard time keeping that model in stock. Very popular with scanner junkies.

believe it or not Workman makes some decent antennas I have a dualband antenna on one of my Yaesu HT's

I have the Comet sma503 ..I have done a test with it and a factory FT 60 antenna,the 503 does seem to work a bit better ....

.Used a repeater that was fringe area for my location ,had it just a bar or so under half scale on the handheld,put the 503 on and it came up about 2 bars or so on the handheld meter....could access it on the 503 where I couldnt on the factory antenna....I would call it a marginal improvment
