Hello, I have 2 Antron 99 antennas sitting around. I’ve heard of a “Francis triple quarter waves” top section but can’t seem to find one.

Do they still exist?

The Francis Triple quarter wave went out of production years ago, and people have been looking for them for just as long.
If you search around you will find some of posts here about the Fire Up fire stick add-on in this section.
I tried it years ago and didn't see any notable difference.

I’ll have to get time to read the entire thread but, thats kinda what’s going on. I have 2 antrons with no top sections.

I’m kinda on a budget so i figured fix the stuff I got. What are all the options for Antron 99 anyway? Just to expand my horizons of what little I know.

I had used one. Sparky himself sold it to me. He said its a 50/50. I just used the Fire Up 99 for the SWR tuning and left the rings on the Antron alone. No issues. This was all back in 2007-2008. I was in a lot of hills at the time- SW PA Greene County line. A lot of people just put an one 108 inch whip one the top to replace the top section . It helped a lot local 14-15 miles local no issues barefoot base station to base station. You can also try a Francis antenna and trim it for proper SWR for the top section replacement- just hack saw and file. Just put the red cap back on, I seal the top with a dab of glue and it will hold the red cap on too.
