My present ride is an 05 Ford Escape with 116,000 Km on it. Even though it has the 3 litre V6 engine it just doesn`t haul my new tent trailer on some of the back country road hills very well. It does great on the highways where the hills are not so steep but some of the mountain roads it really sucks. It has a towing limit of 3500 lbs. and the trailer loaded weighs in at about 3400 lbs. I like the looks of the FJ Cruiser but hardly see any of them on the roads or at the dealers. In fact I only ever see one at a time on a dealer`s lot. I want to retain the four wheel drive and SUV style over a truck and really like the tough look of the FJ Cruiser. The FJ has a towing capacity of 5000 lbs and a 4 litre engine so that will help a lot for what I want. Any one own one or have any feedback about them? I prefer a manual transmission but will likely opt for the five speed automatic with the off road package.
