Anyone know extended transit mod for Yaesu FT-25 HT

I looked all over. Can't find the mod. Help a brother out.

This is all I got on this mod. Looks like a software mod and not a hardware mod.

HI.

The folowing procedure expands TX 136 - 174 MHz.

FT-25 EXPAND TX

Turn radio OFF

Press and hold ptt and Tcall (under the ptt) Turn radio ON Relase the buttons insert this number 22406665

The radio reboots and TX is enpanded!

Worked like a charm. I tried something similar to that and it would only work on European models. Gigaparts charges $35 for it.

Tried w/o success. When turned on while holding buttons as noted,
screen defaults to the Preferred Operating Mode screen where I am unable to enter the 8 digit number.

Plug in the #s, ignore the menu that comes up. It works.
