Anyone still use a Antron-99 for 17-10 meters?

A99 will work 10 through 15 no tuner required, will need tuner on 17.

Mount it on a stand off on the tower should work fine.

Even with my tuner i get a 3.o swr

one way i fixed this was to replace the top section with a 102" sw
making it longer and i can get 1.8 in the center of the band

Top section of an imax will lower the swr on 17 as well

If you measure a 3.0:1 (not 3.o) SWR with the meter connected just after the radio, and then insert a tuner in the line, with the meter now just after the tuner, it will still read 3:1. You haven't changed things at the feedpoint. The tuner transforms the antenna SYSTEM into something close to ideal, but the SWR at the feedpoint doesn't change. What does change is the transmitter is now able to transfer maximum power to the antenna SYSTEM, which includes everything downstream from the tuner out to the antenna: coax, meters, connectors, etc.

So I now have a Antron 99 on my tower. I didnt adjust the tunning rings and installed just how it came from the factory.
See my results below with a MFJ 259b analyzer hooked to it.

My coax is 75ft of Dx engenering DXE-8X.
Antenna is 45 above ground to the bottom of it.

I have a Cushcraft 10 element vert 2 meter yagi just below the A99. The swr was affected and is now above 2.0:1 from 144-148 mhz. I figured this would happen adding a vertical on top of another vertical antenna.
Below the Cushcraft yagi is a Sirio Sy27-3 yagi.

The Sirio is working great.
The Antron 99 is also working great.
The Cushcraft yagi is still working but the Swr is to high imo.
See picture below.

From my results I conclude the Antron 99 is usable from 17-10 meters with a antenna tuner. My Kenwood TS-2000 will tune the antenna up so there is no need for a wider range antenna tuner. I feel the Anton 99 when installed from the factory is a CB antenna first and foremost and a compromise on the amateur bands at best.
For the low price and ease of installation I'm quite happy with it.
I paid 65.00 dollars to my door for it.
