Several of the guys around here have them. Most have selected the TYT Brand models. They have Quad Banders and 50 watt models. They seem to like them and have a lot of features for the money.
They are hard to beat for the price but I have walked away from the Chinese stuff gradually over the last couple years.. the receivers have NO filtering. I live in a somewhat rural area but still suffer from intermod and overload issues. I couldn't imagine living in a big city with one. Scanning would be tough. I came back to the big 3.. much better receivers.
