the person who came up with the idea of using an RJ-45 plug as a mic connector on radios should be demoted. obviously they did it to cut costs and maybe space but c'mon. i will spend the extra $5 for the standard heavy duty 4 pin etc "foster connector" mic plug. it wont break the bank.
Amateur radios have had the RJ45 type connectors for years with mobile radios.
Seems the connector lasts better than the cheap cord material as I have had to replace several microphone cords due to the disintegration of the mic cords on several Yaesu products. Don't know about other brands, all my mobile radios have been Yaesu...in the HAM arena anyway.
Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
