Don't care much for 11m/CB skip, EXCEPT for my amped up bro & pop.
Guess its time to return to cw on the HF bands. Morse works, & works with le$$, than any other mode.
Not going to do much here at the house, I save my main "push" for the cabin, where the towers are.
HOWEVER, I do intend to make a Pixie-II w/coaxial aerial in a food-free lunchbox. I work outta those huge wind turbines (120-200ft@8000ft elevation). I figure I can drop a wire antenna from the "urinal" vent, and work some CW.
