Looking for advice on an audio recorder or DVR to use with my Icom 746 non-pro I was used to the DVS-2 when I had my Yaesu FT-890, nothing expensive as it's for experimental at the moment, which there was a way to rewire it to use with any radio

You can do it through a computer but you have an older radio with no direct USB connection but it can be done.

You need a 8 pin DIN connector to go from your radio's ACC 1 port and wire it into the computer sound-cards analog audio input/outputs. You'll be able to do both, record any audio off air and send audio recorded from your computer for transmit.

To play it back for transmit, use any computer media player and with your radio on VOX, it will transmit your audio message over the air.

According to your radio manual, Pin 4 will be audio going into your radio which can be transmitted.

Pin 5 will be audio out which you send to a computer sound card audio line input or mic input.

Pin 2 connects all grounds together.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
