Here's one for anyone doing the Magnum S-9 export frequency mod.
I have a Magnum S-9 and i noticed that Band E was the cb band, not D band. I went through the step's to do the mod in CB trick's and when i was on band A Channel 1 (In program mode) the band was correct as well as all the other band's, I did the shutdown in the program and powered off the radio, Reset the jumper's as directed and turned on the radio,
Band A channel 1 was 25.165 Mhz
Band B channel 1 was 25.615 Mhz
Band C channel 1 was 26.065 Mhz
Band D channel 1 was 26.515 Mhz
Band E channel 1 was 26.965 Mhz This is the cb 40 channel band It should be Band D
Band F channel 1 was 27.415 Mhz
Band G channel 1 was 27.865 Mhz
Band H channel 1 was 28.315 Mhz
As u can see the band's are one band too high, Even though they were correct while i did the reprograming. And i did the reprograming many times, shutting the power off of the radio instead of just turning the power switch off,
So i thought, Why not start the programming at Band H instead of Band A, I started the reprograming on Band H and selected band I, Then selected Band G and set it to band H and on down the line to band A, Then i rebooted the radio and now Band A Channel 1 is 25.615 Mhz and on down the line as shown in cb trick's.
This got me to wondering WHERE this Band A Channel 1 freq of 25.165 Mhz ever even came from?????
More looking in cb trick's under the Magnum S-3 export frequency mod, it list Band A channel 1 as 25.165 Mhz.
Not knowing the complete history on this Magnum S-9, i wonder if there wasn't a chip or e-prom or something swapped from a Magnum S-3 into this Magnum S-9.
Anyway, it's programed now and maybe this will help someone else out in the future

Some further insite on this radio that i didn't think about atm.
The X2 xtal i found had a rotted lead on it from sony bond, I found another 13.560 xtal and it tested good, and installed it, According to the schematic, that was the X2 xtal in it, The old xtal was stamped CMT 1401 N5 CLCB. So i further thought maybe the 1401 stamped on the xtal axially meant it was a 14010 Xtal. I installed the 14.010Xtal in X2 and reprogramed the radio as the chart in cb trick's show's and it's now ok.
GO FIGURE,

Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
  • @ ShadowDelaware:
Hambones the entire amp section would have to be retuned, and the rf transformers re wrapped.
