The best I can tell is that it has some minor firmware revisions to make it "US specific". Everything basically looks the same to me.
 
Same radio as was said with wider coverage but all the other specs are the same. I think Ive see this uv5r being sold under at least 6 model numbers all saying NEW MODEL ... on Ebay... its tempting at $46.20 with free shipping and includes charging cradle and all accesssories...
 
Get it from Amazon
then order you the larger batterypack along with a antenna connection from Radioshack with the cable or pay the 5 bucks for the smaller connection
then unscrew the dummyload antenna get you a longer antenna
works alot better
 
I have a UV-5R that is 136-174/400-520 like what these F11 are marketed as. I bought mine from radiopro off ebay shipped to Australia. Maybe just lableing, it looks exactly the same as mine.

I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
