Hi Yall, before I buy the Big Signal 2 BS-11 can I ask, is the Driver the front of the antenna and the Reflector the back of the antenna? It is a two element antenna,so when I want to point the antenna in a certain direction then its the driver in front. X=reflector X=Driver.
. . . . . Back. . . . Front
If I go a bit bigger and buy the Big Signal 3 BS-11 then what is the middle element called? Is it a second Driver X=reflector X=Driver X=Driver
. . . . . . . Back. . . . .Middle . Front
Maybe I've answered my own questions or more than likely I have them wrong but I have never owned a beam before so it will be new territory for me to explore.
Preparing to be further enlightened by y'all
Thanks folks.

Hi,
The driven element will be the one with a match (gamma, beta), where the coax goes, on it. The reflector will be about 5% longer, and not driven. On a three element the director (front) will be about 5% SHORTER. Point the driven and/or director element at who you want to talk to.
HTH.
John.

Two element Yagis/ Moxons do not require a matching device, they will be near Z=50 ohms. In the case a of two-element beam with a Driven element and a Reflector element, the Driven will be the "front" of the antenna.
