Beefy Battery Side Terminal Connector ?

Hi guys,

I may need a better way to draw heavier current from my side terminal battery post. What are some ideas?

I currently use a heavy duty alligator clip onto the bolt head, and that works fine for my stock-low power radios. Thinking I'm going to need something more substantial than that for a high power radio.

What do y'all use? Thanks!

I've always used something like this:

You can find them most anywhere and especially at car audio shops. Of course you can go from the battery to a terminal block and go from there.

Any car stereo shop ought to have exactly what you need. They will even have them gold plated to match teeth!!!

don't even connect to the battery. follow the big red wire to the starter motor and connect at the starter. no corrosion issues and also a good "clean" power source.
be sure to temporally disconnect the cable on the battery side BEFORE you make the connection at the starter side..... it's always "hot"

Hi HDon6, My starter is too hard to get to and is above an exhaust pipe. Too much trouble. Have to go with the battery, but thanks anyway!

On the starter there is the heat issue. With the side post adapter you can mount a distribution block close to the battery and come from it to the block. Some of the blocks have fused outputs on them too so you can kill several birds with one stone.
