best AM channel for skip?

15.008 and 20.008 mhz were apparently their preferred operating frequencies for voice.

There are some interesting articles from the early 1960s involving some Italian brothers (Judica-Cordiglia I think the name was) who were monitoring all the voice communications on the early manned Soviet space flights. They produced what they claimed were voice recordings of space flights where the cosmonauts involved were lost in one manner or another.

No channel 9 for space flight 150 miles above the earth cruising at 17,500MPH. They couldn't even break on channel 19 and get some help. Must have been tough!

Sputnik 1 operated on two frequencies, 20.005 and 40.002 MHz.

35-40 lsb also. Especially 38 lsb.
And of course, the Superbowl.
