Of current production legal 40-channel CB's which one is the best on AM Transmit and Receive?

I am considering going with a new employer and may not be able to use my 6300F-25.

Right now I am thinking about a General Sherman or Galaxie 979....

Uniden PC78XL! With Justin's mods, this radio is loud and doing approx 50 watts. (same applies to the smaller PC68XL)

For throw-n-go, its hard to beat the Uniden 510XL/520XL! For a tiny little radio, it kicks!

Decent reciever would be something like a cobra 29 or uniden 78-- the smaller cobra 25 or uniden 68

Audio makes a big difference when your legal- tone, quality, compression/expansion, mic gain-- a higher pitched, crispy, clear signal travels far and cuts through the static good-- especially with enough mic gain to keep all the modulation at 100% no matter how low or loud you talk-- just some ideas- audio is often overlooked

I agree. The Uniden PC 68/78 and Cobra 25/29 are the way to go. for over-all performance, I like the 25 and 68. For expandability, the 29/78 are the way to go. I also agree that for performance and durability in s small size, the Uniden Pro 510 is the way to go. Take one of those straight out of the box, slap an inexpensive echo mic on it, and listen to all of the questions you get asking whether you're running a Galaxy or Connex.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
