I really like my Yaesu VX-5r, it has worked flawless from day one, good coverage, good audio,and I like the wide-band rx. I can see were if you do not like to use menu driven functions, you might not like it, but that is not a problem as far as I am concerned.

I used the Icom TH2 for my first HT it was cheap and did what it was suppose to for 90 bucks.



I know someone selling 2 ICOM 2GXAT ht's 7watt each and they work just fine 300 bucks plus shipping for the pair
