What's the best low-end (yeah I know those two words don't go together) or "minimum" meter capable of 1k watts that you'd use? I'm not going to be modding radios or amps, I just want/need something reliable to keep an eye on my system. Right now I'm using a Astatic PDC2, bought at a truck stop just to get the antenna tuned, but I need something more reliable and capable.
    Thanks for any input.

Look into Diawa meters, not the cheapest but will last

I suppose it depends on what you consider low end. I'd recommend Daiwa as well. Have owned a bunch of cheaper ones over the years and all did what I needed them to do.

Believe it or not, radio shack meters (the black ones) are fairly accurate. Daiwa is a good choice like the other guys stated

I had one as well... That thing was as tight of a meter as I'd ever seen in a cheap meter... It'd hurt your feelings.. LOL

Well, that's what they pay me for... Sometimes it's questionable, LOL. I'm an Electrical Specialist at the stainless steel mill here in Alabama.

I hope you like it. I was thinking it wasn’t a *true* peak reading meter, but according to DX engineering, it sounds like it is.

Please do let us know what you think of it. I might just buy one to compliment my 901 for mobile work.
