No no no, you folks have it all wrong.
Just run to the nearest travel stop, they've got all the top shelf brands like barjan, roadpro and other non uv resistant copper clad Chinese made coax. Already have factory installed pl-259's and cut to the proper 18' lengths. We all know it won't tune in other lengths!

I got a 6 foot jumper of Tandy RG8. That I keep around to admire the crimped on ends.
